Tetteh Quarshie footbridge opened

Pedestrians who use the road around Tetteh Quarshie can now heave a sigh of relief as they can now use the new footbridge when crossing the road. 

The footbridge which has just been completed is now open to pedestrians.

Many pedestrians have lost their lives while crossing the busy three-lane dual highway.

However, with the completion of the project, movement along the area will no more be difficult.

The Director of Departments for Urban Roads, Alhaji Abass Aworlu told Citi News that the footbridge will be opened to pedestrians by the end of August.

“We have to do some walkways and some paving works and if you go there now that is what is being done otherwise it creates its own challenges, but we expect that by the grace of God we should be able to open the footbridge by the end of the month,” he said.

Mr Aworlu further stated that the Department together with the Ghana Highway Authority will complete work on the George Walker Bush Highway soon.
