Taylor Swift took time out of her busy pop star schedule to meet the son of her bestie Jaime King. 

The model/actress had her son Leo on July 16, and asked Taylor to be his godparent shortly thereafter. She explained that in her family godparenting is a "very sacred and important thing in our family." 
"They’re going to be guiding your child, and they’re responsible for them if something was to ever happen," said King. She continued saying that Swift would be the perfect godparent because of her kind spirit.
"We try and choose people who we know would raise our child the way that we would raise our child and her thoughtfulness, her kindness, her authenticity—the way that she’s generous with her family, with her friends, with her fans—is so powerful to me."

She also described the moment she asked the "Shake It Off" star to take on the important role:
"We were hanging out on the couch and I was like, ‘Hey, would ever want to be a godmother?’ And she was like, ‘Uh, yes!’ And she cried and, you know, all the fun things that best friends do."
Taylor seems to be quite taken with the new role, posting darling images of herself and Leo on her Instagram account, one with the caption "Meeting my boy."
She also captioned another photo of her godson holding her finger with what could be some sweet new song lyrics: "Your little hand's wrapped around my finger and it's so quiet in the world tonight..."
