De Gea signs new Man United deal!

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has signed a new four-year contract with the Old Trafford club.

The deal will keep David De Gea with the Red Devils until at least 2019 with an option to extend for a further year.

David De Gea was linked with a move to Spanish club Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. The deal for the Spain international to join Real Madrid fell through in the last minutes of the transfer window as the Spanish club could not register the player on time.

On Friday, a statement about David De Gea’s new deal read on the Manchester United website:

David De Gea has signed a new four-year contract with Manchester United, keeping him at Old Trafford until at least 2019. There is an option to extend it for a further year.
I am delighted to be starting this new chapter in my United career. I have always enjoyed playing with these great players in front of our fantastic fans. Manchester United is a special club and Old Trafford is an ideal place for me to continue to develop my career.

David De Gea could take his position in post when Manchester United play Liverpool in the English Premier League on Saturday.
