This week's English Premier League Action kicked-off at the St. James Park where Newcastle had to face-off The Gunners, Arsenal.
A red-card in the first-half for Mitrovic seemed to make things easy for the Gunners.
However, they struggled to make good use of their chances until a deflected shot by Oxlade-Chamberlain found the back of the net early in the second-half.
It was only their third top-flight goal of the campaign, and a second to have come courtesy of an opposing player, but it transpired to be the winner.
Elsewhere, Aston Villa drew 2-2 at home with Sunderland. Scott Sinclair grabbed all two goals for Aston Villa while two new recruits Yann Mvila and Jermain Lens also scored for Sunderland.
New boys Bournemouth also drew 1-all with Leicester. With the goals coming from Callum Wilson in the first-half and a late penalty level from Jamie Vardy.
The current League Champions showed a poor display as they beaten at home by Crystal Palace. This match was Mourinho's 100th match as the Club's manager and it unfortunately ended as a defeat.
All goals were scored in the second half though, Bakary Sako put Palace in front, finishing off a Yannick Bolasie cross at the second time of asking after a block by Cesar Azpilicueta then after in the 79th minute, Radomel Falcao equalised for Chelsea with a taunting diving header from a cross by Pedro (Falcao's first goal for Chelsea).
However, a Yannick Bolasie cross from the left moments later found Bacary Sako in acres of space, and the Mali international cut the ball back for Ward to head in the winner.
Moving over to Anfield, Liverpool lost comfortable to West Ham in a 3-0 match encounter.
West Ham United ended their 52-year wait for success at Anfield with a 3-0 Barclays Premier League victory over Liverpool that saw both sides reduced to 10 men.
Coutinho's two bookings either side of half-time added to Liverpool's frustrations and, even when Noble saw red for a foul on substitute Danny Ings, West Ham remained in control.
Diafra Sakho coolly finished late on to add further gloss to a worrying scoreline for Rodgers.
Raheem Sterling scored the first Barclays Premier League goal of his Manchester City career in a 2-0 victory over Watford as Manuel Pellegrini's men achieved a new club record of 10 consecutive wins.
City are now one victory away from equalling Chelsea and Liverpool's winning streaks of 11 matches, but on this kind of form they look well capable of breaking the Barclays Premier League record of 14, set by Arsenal in 2002.
Sergio Aguero, keen to add to his only goal of the season so far in the 3-0 win over Chelsea, attempted to weave his way through the packed Watford defence, but Etienne Capoue made a key interception to prevent the Argentinian from getting his shot away.
But on the 56th minute, a Toure free-kick hit the wall, but the rebound fell to Silva, who teed up Fernandinho with a brilliant pass into the area and the Brazilian smashed it home into the far corner from an acute angle.
Stoke City had two players sent off in the first half of a fiery encounter with West Bromwich Albion as Salomon Rondon netted his first Barclays Premier League goal to give Tony Pulis a 1-0 win on his first return to the Britannia Stadium.
Pulis could hardly have asked for more assistance from the side he managed for nearly a decade across two spells, with two moments of ill-discipline allowing West Brom to dominate the match. Stoke were reduced to 10 men in the 25th minute when Ibrahim Afellay was shown a straight red card for an altercation with Craig Gardner. Midfielder Charlie Adam, brought into the side in place of Marko Arnautovic by Mark Hughes, was then giving his marching orders six minutes later for appearing to stamp on Craig Dawson.
West Brom finally made their extra numbers count in first-half injury time when Rondon turned Lambert's well-placed far-post cross home with a header across goal and into the bottom-right corner.
